BREEDING WORLD CLASS
SHOW AND COMPANION DOGS SINCE 1996

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit our web site, we would like to take a few minutes and tell you just a little bit about us and our program for producing world class show and companion dogs.

Michelle R. Harms of Holyoke, Colorado, a small rural farm town, owns Goldbars Bullmastiffs and Goldbars Kennels in northeastern Colorado.

Puppy love!It is the goal and purpose of Goldbars Bullmastiffs to produce dogs of exceptional temperament, type and structure. We strive to achieve this by selective breeding. Our breeding program utilizes the use of OFA, eye and elbow certification and thyroid panels obtained from Michigan State University, every precaution is taken to try and produce world class dogs. It is our responsibility to provide the finest homes possible for our puppies so each and every prospective puppy buyer is thoroughly screened before approval. All companion dogs are placed with a spay/neuter contract and AKC limited registration. All show dogs are placed with a co own contract.

When the decision to purchase and show a Bullmastiff became a reality for us we spent the better part of one-year researching the breed and various breeders from around the United States. We cannot begin to tell you how many ABA Journals and Bullseye's and other bullmastiff periodicals that we thumbed through looking at dogs that were then 8 and 9 years old in order to establish in our minds eye the type of bullmastiff that we wanted. We were finally able to narrow the type of dog that we liked down to four breeders. At this time we made the appropriate phone calls and as luck would have it or as we prefer to say “all the hard work” paid off and we were able to purchase the bullmastiff bitch that had and has passed on all the characteristics and type that we envisioned. We were able to obtain from Leathernecks Bullmastiffs our foundation bitch CH. Leathernecks Lady Dore’.  With the arrival of Dore’ our journey into the sport and the business of showing dogs began. We immediately traded off the F350 4X4 Crew Cab for a mini van with rear air conditioning purchased a 500 fiberglass crate, a show lead and we were officially in the game, dear lord, did we have a great deal to learn "Pudge" the puppy! about showing dogs. We were blessed to have two wonderful mentors and they made it possible to survive the lows and to appreciate and savor the highs with dignity and for their guidance and advice we will be and are forever grateful. Our very first dog show was in Greeley, Colorado and we were there with an 8-month-old puppy ready to take on all comers. It is important to know that during the time that Dore’ arrived until this particular dog show there were handling classes both public and private. All the information needed was passed on to us on how to exhibit our dog, unfortunately they did not tell us what to do if we won, so needless to say when Judge E. W. Hopps pointed at me and Dore’ for winners bitch we were to the say the least completely lost.

Over the years from that moment of sheer terror in 1994 we have committed ourselves to producing the best dogs possible. We have progressed from the mini van to a full size conversion van to our current custom-built Q van and new 18 run in door outdoor kennel.  We have produced 23 AKC Champions, 2 Top Producing Dams mother and daughter, Dam of the Year 2001 (Mica), 2 National Futurity Winners, 3 Regional Sweepstakes winners, a Regional Specialty winner and numerous group placements and wins along with several dogs ranked in the Top 10.  We have a number of dogs that are on the verge of obtaining their AKC championships, all of this with limited and selective breeding practices. It is our goal to produce world class dogs and this goal elusive as it may be is the driving force behind Goldbars Bullmastiffs. We invite you to take the time now to view our dogs and their pedigrees and some of the wins that they have been fortunate enough to have garnered. Thank you for your interest in our dogs, Goldbars Bullmastiffs, champions and much more.
